Saba, the premier people systems provider, has launched Saba (News - Alert) Live, a next- generation cloud-based enterprise business networking solution.

Officials with Saba said that the solution includes powerful Web 2.0 social tools integrated with Saba Centra Web Conferencing for real time collaboration.

Company officials said that to drive innovation and improve productivity and efficiency, Saba Live enables employees, partners and customers to communicate, cultivate knowhow, and share ideas and materials in real-time, from anywhere in the world.

"Saba Live supports a dynamic and engaged workforce, where employees, partners and customers across an enterprise ecosystem can continuously connect and collaborate through Web 2.0 tools”, said Jim Lundy, vice president and general manager, Saba Collaboration Solutions, in a statement.

Lundy said that the launch of this new platform reflects Saba's dedication to delivering the industry's most innovative collaboration solutions to help the customers work more efficiently and productively.

According to company officials, Saba Live combines rich personal profiles, competency-driven expertise, Twitter-like feedback, blended learning, secure groups and workplace analytics to deliver an unprecedented collaboration experience.

Josh Bersin, president and CEO of Bersin & Associates, a research and advisory services company, said that Saba Live is a new class of product which integrates collaboration, social networking, knowledge management and learning on a single unified platform.

Bersin said that with this announcement, Saba is signaling that it intends to have the most complete and modern collaborative environment on the market.

Janice Watrous-McCabe, Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and other health care services, said that collaboration ensures accurate information is shared between all employees, improving up-to-date knowledge of best practices, specific medical situations and procedures, particular patient needs and training information.

McCabe said that Saba Collaboration solutions have enabled over 23,000 users at Allina Hospitals and Clinics to collaborate in over 117 communities that span 11 hospitals and 50 clinic locations, improving patient care and comfort system-wide.

“The release of Saba Live marks a very exciting development in social learning," he said.
