Teo, a global innovative telecommunications company, was formerly known as Tone Commander Systems. The company announced that it received approval letters and the CNSS serial numbers for its latest TSG-6 Power of Ethernet enabled IP phones. The latest VOIP models were tested and approved by the National Telephone Security Working Group.

Both the VOIP models have 802.3af POE support, as well as a built-in Ethernet port. This port allows a single copper wire connection to support the phone and PC at the same time. The phones are SIP compliant and they have been deployed on many systems including those of Avaya (News - Alert), Asterisk, Redcom, Edge Access and Alcatel.

The Teo 7810PoE-TSGA is TSG-6 Class A certified and it finds it use in the Compartmented Information Facility areas without any restriction on equipment. The 7810PoE-TSGB is less expensive and it is TSG-6 Class B certified. This device will normally be used in applications where the network switching device is grouped together within the same area as the telephone.

In a press release, Steve Hill, president of Teo, said, “Both the certifications help to strengthen Teo’s reputation even more as a leading provider of government grade communication systems. The company is proud to offer to the industry the largest range of TSG-6 category telephone equipment in the market at present.”

Teo is the first company to receive the TSG-6 certification for the IP phone and it was also the first company to receive the CNCC Class A certification for a PoE-enabled phone. The company has three types of different CNSS approved IP models. The other products of the company include related to TSG-6 include the industry’s only certified TSG-6 ISDN phones and TSG-6 NT1 ISDN Network Terminations.   

The 7810PoE-TSGA is available for $679 and the 7810PoE-TSGB is available for $599.
