By Kunal Vahalia, TMCnet Contributor

Eyeball Networks, a software developer for tools related to video, VOIP and instant messaging solutions, announced the update of its messenger SDK to support tablet computers and mobile devices making use of the Android (News - Alert) operating system.

The updates to the messenger SDK enable the tablet developers and application developers to enhance their software products by making use of the award winning messenger soft client solutions for video, voice and IM communications.

The enhancements also allow the messenger’s previous updates to its AnyFirewall NAT traversal software which enables the tablets, PCs and other mobile devices to provide reliable communications through the NAT device or firewall.

The announcement timing of the company coincides with the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas from Jan. 6 to 9. There will be about a dozen new tablet PCs to be announced at the exhibition from major companies such as LG, Asus, Motorola, NEC (News - Alert), MSI and Viewsonic.

These new devices will be built after the success of Dell streak, Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Ta. The devices have many range factors such as ARM (News - Alert) based chips from Samsung, Qualcomm, Marvell and Texas Instruments.

The MessangerSDK from Eyeball can be used to supplement any type of video, voice or IM software that is installed in the tablets. The new applications will help to improve the tablet’s capabilities. Most of the new tablets run on iOS, Windows 7 or Android and all these operating systems have the capability of multitasking along with playing high definition media.

There is also a multi touch display and a front facing camera which can be utilized by the new MessangerSDK. This solution will help to deliver a rich peer to peer video and voice solution.    Recently, Eyeball Networks (News - Alert) announced the release of its AnyFirewall Engine firewall and NAT traversal solution for Android.
