Megapath's merger with Speakeasy and Covad (News - Alert) Communications in September 2010 created one of the largest end-to-end facilities-based IP communications networks in the United States. Chris Gellos, formerly Vice President of Sales at Speakeasy (News - Alert), played a pivotal role in the integration of the three companies. He now comes aboard Megapath to do the same thing.
An industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, Gellos has a proven track record of building high performing sales organizations in both direct and channel sales. At Megapath, he will supervise the strategic direction and management of the its direct and channel sales operations.
Previously, Gellos has held a variety of management positions with major telecommunications companies and his vast experience will help Megapath in the launching of the new channel partner program. MegaPath's (News - Alert) Channel Partner Program includes over 4,500 referral partners and Master Agents in the country.
In a press release, Bruce Chatterley, President of Business Markets, said Megapath dwelt on Gellos' abilities at length and spoke of his role in integrating the three companies' direct and channel programs in a seamless fashion. He was confident that Chris' vision of the sales organization would prove valuable as the company prepared to launch its new channel partner program, and moved forward to reach another milestone.
