In an instructional video, Aptela explains how to properly use and make the most of Aptela’s Phone (News - Alert) Assistant feature. This information helps those out there who may be having a bit of difficulty adjusting to this functionality.
First, to get started, you need a polycom SIP phone and a computer but before you even begin anything you must first make sure your phone is set up correctly; referring to Aptela’s (News - Alert) knowledge base (web page) will help you achieve this. When you know that your phone is ready, go to your Aptela account log on with your username and password.
These steps will allow you to have your default SIP phone in your ‘Find Me’ list where you can then go to VoIP settings and press Launch Phone Tool.
Once you launch the phone tool, you must then click the configure phone button which will allow you to set up all available lines to your extension; all you have to do is type in your MAC address to your phone. Your settings should reboot once you reset the phone.
If you’re looking for a slightly more complicated set up, all you have to do is go back to the phone you just set up. Press edits, and then below that check off the “advanced configuration” option, press next twice, then you’ll be prompted into setting up the number of additional lines you need.
