VoIP hosted PBX (News - Alert) provider Press8 Telecom has announced that the company is witnessing a growth in the number of users moving to voicemail to text transcription. According to the company, this is happening mainly because people are no longer finding the time to listen to their voicemail messages.
With voicemail to text transcription, voice-mails are transcribed to text and sent via E-Mail or SMS text messaging for the user to read. In addition, the voice mail audio file is attached to the E-Mail so that the user can listen to it at a later time if they want to.
According to Marin Field, CEO of Press8 Telecom, "Our customers have found a more efficient way to manage their voicemails - voicemail to text transcription. Research shows that it takes longer for people to reply to a voicemail message than any other type of communication. With voice-mail to text it’s easy to check your voicemail—even if you’re in a meeting or another situation where listening to a message wouldn’t be polite or possible.”
Back 2010, the company made headlines when it donated its VoIP hosted PBX services to a Austin-based non-profit, Homeless Coach. This is a volunteer organization sponsored by the Austin Community Foundation a 501c3.
