Every month, the country holds its collective breath as we wait to hear the latest national unemployment statistics. For many, the news is mildly disappointing, with little change in the number of available jobs. However, for residents of Dorchester County, South Carolina, there is at least a little bit of good news on the horizon, as an international call center outsourcer has announced plans to add new jobs to an inbound call center located in the Lowcountry.
iQor (News - Alert), a company that boasts 31 centers on four continents, has had a facility in the Lowcountry since 2007, and has found the available workforce to be of high quality. As a result, it plans to add 90 new positions to its facility on Dorchester Road by the end of the year. The positions at the Dorchester County facility will be for call center agents who will handle both inbound and outbound customer calls.
“With the addition of 90 new positions, we look forward to continued future growth at our Dorchester Road facility,” said iQor president and CEO Norm Merritt.
Local officials are pleased about the announcement as well. “News of an expansion of this size not only illustrates the success that iQor has had as a result of doing business in Dorchester County, but also represents their commitment to the area,” said Dorchester County Council Chairman Larry Hargett.
iQor provides customer support, retention and processing services in facilities located in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, the Philippines and the UK.
Another company that specializes in inbound call center staffing is Ameridial. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Ameridial provides both outbound and inbound call center services across many verticals, with a specialty in servicing healthcare-related companies.
