Convergys (News
- Alert) is hiring for its contact center in Lubbock, Texas and recently invited candidates to attend a three-day long fair meant to fill the positions for this facility.
The customer management specialist held the fair from October 16 through October 18, and notes that those unable to attend the job fair, may call 806-788-8071 to schedule an appointment.
Those interested to join the facility also have the option to apply online at http://careers.convergys.com.
"Potential employees must have exemplary customer service skills, computer literacy, and candidates should possess sales experience." said Shari Barnes, site leader for the Convergys contact center in Lubbock. "Working at Convergys as a customer service representative may serve as a great stepping stone to a career in operations, recruitment, or training.”
Convergys was honored with 2012 Employer of the Year award by Workforce Solutions South Plains. The company urges its employees to enroll in the Convergys Corporate Learning Customer Management Development Program and gives them an opportunity to earn credits towards their degree through accumulated work experience.
Those working for Convergys also get to benefit from on-site employees’ comprehensive training, competitive wages and performance incentives.
Employee benefits also include medical and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, and paid and unpaid time off. Convergys points out that employment with the company is dependent on the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
“More than 70 percent of Convergys' customer service managers began their careers as agents, and we are known for the internal promotion of our employees. As we are a worldwide company with nearly 75,000 employees, opportunities exist around the globe, in locations such as India and the Philippines,” added Barnes.
Convergys is focused on helping companies find new ways to enhance the value of their customer relationships and deliver consistent customer experiences across all channels and geographies. The company was in news earlier this summer when its Convergys call center at the Bon Carré Business Center closed in May leading to about 300 lay-offs.
