NTT Com Honored By Red Hat for Its Biz Hosting Basic Solution

NTT Communications (News - Alert) announced that it is the first company in the Asia-Pacific to receive the Red Hat (News - Alert) Cloud Leadership Award from Red Hat Inc. NTT Communications, which is a provider of a broad range of global networks, management solutions and IT services. NTT received the award for its cloud-based virtual hosting service, Biz Hosting Basic.
In a press release, NTT explained that Biz Hosting Basic combines robust, decentralized data centers and high-quality network services. Biz Hosting Basic’s success in addressing Japan’s electricity shortage immediately after the March 11 earthquake with its cloud-based unified solutions has been specially recognized by the judgment panel. The company’s unified solutions include Biz Desktop Pro, a high-performance virtual desktop service for teleworking, and quick recovery for business continuity. NTT Com was quick to offer the service on a free basis to support the relief efforts of various organizations.
Based on open-source, kernel-based virtual machine (KVM) technology for virtualization, Biz Hosting Basic strives to offer high-level functionality, security, scalability and cost performance. Biz Hosting Basic is part of NTT Com’s BizCITY services, which also includes Biz Desktop Pro. NTT Com is working to further enhance this suite of cloud-based services.
The Red Hat Cloud Leadership Award was launched earlier this year by Red Hat Inc. The quarterly award has been designed to honor companies and providers that demonstrate excellent leadership and innovation in the cloud computing field.
NTT America (News - Alert) recently announced the company will join NTT Communications in a Platinum sponsorship of the CIO Perspectives Series.
