Top Image Systems (TIS), a developer of document processing software, first began working with a Pan-African financial services company in 2005 when it installed the eFLOW software to help process the client’s unstructured and structured health insurance documents. Now, TIS will assist that client with an upgrade to eFLOW5 to help provide additional functionality in processing further financial documentation.

The Pan-African client handles insurance and other financial products that relate to asset management, investment, and retirement accounts, in addition to health insurance. The upgrade to eFLOW5 is expected to improve customer experiences by better recognizing documentation and better complying with industry standards and regulations. The software promises to improve its rates of recognition and increase the efficiency with which it handles documents.

Barry Richards, the managing director at TIS EMEA, commented that his company has seen a lot of growth in Europe and Africa in recent years. Its mission, he says, is to help clients improve their business processes in order to compete in their respective markets.

“As the reputation and proven success of eFLOW5 gains exposure in the market, TIS continues to grow its presence in key document-driven industry sectors in Europe and Africa such as banking and insurance,” Richards said. “We are proud that by deploying excellent software and services, we can deliver on our promise to our customers to help them transform their business processes to better compete and thrive in the digital economy.”

The transition to eFLOW5 weighs in at about $200,000 and is expected to begin full operation near the beginning of 2016. The client is reportedly considering the addition of Web-based scanning and validation tools that can assist the core tools available in the TIS software. With the client’s operations spanning 16 countries and more than 2.5 million clients, any gains in efficiency should prove effective on a large scale. The addition of other tools, if deemed usable by the client’s customers, should only increase the efficacy of the upgrade.

The client’s future work with the software can span any types of documents it may expect to use. Although many companies are moving toward digital workplaces, they often still require paper-based documentation for certain transactions. eFLOW5 will be able to handle email, faxes, paper mail, and many other forms of digital and paper documents, and it will be able to categorize all the containing information and help employees make decisions about how to best react to that information.
