IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker has reportedly revealed that the worldwide converged mobile device market reached a new record for shipments during a single quarter. Converged mobile devices are capable of synchronizing personal information and email with server, desktop or laptop computers.
IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker said that vendors shipped 43.3 million units during the third quarter of 2009. This reflects an increase of 4.2 percent from the 41.5 million units shipped in the third quarter of 2008.
