Digium, Inc., an Asterisk Company, has announced the list of 21 companies who are the first to reserve space at their upcoming AstriCon 2010 Conference.

Irving, Texas-based Iwatsu Voice Networks, a provider of business communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses, announced the release of ECS Software Version 7.0 for its Iwatsu Enterprise-CS IP-PBX (News - Alert) or “ECS” and Iwatsu Enterprise Suite or “IES” unified communications platform.

Zhone Technologies, Inc., a well known international provider of network access solutions for fiber, copper and wireless broadband infrastructures, recently announced that du, an integrated telecom service provider in the UAE, has chosen Zhone's Multiple Access Line Concentrator (MALC) Multi-service Access Node. Their main intention is to deliver a wide range of highly advanced IP access services to its large number of fixed access customers. The services include voice, Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), ADSL2+ and ISDN BRI over IP to its residential and business customers as part of its IP network initiative.

David Walsh, president of StarView Solutions said that istarsip is the company's first phone app which turns a smart phone into a virtual VoIP phone and can reduce long distance charges while traveling or calling overseas. The application was developed because other similar applications were lacking some key functionality and feature issues that the company was able to incorporate.

Viper Networks, Inc., a provider of VoIP products and services, has received final approval from Bharat Sanchar Nigam, Ltd. to offer a full spectrum of national and international telecom services, beginning with VoIP, Calling Cards and Pinless Accounts.

At about the same time that SKYPE has decided to go premium, Pinger is now offering smartphone users with free calling and texting.

German telecommunications service provider QSC AG (QSC) has selected Acme Packet to improve its IPfoniecentraflex IP Centrex service. The company will deploy Acme Packet's Net-Net 4500 session border controller (SBC) for this purpose.
