snom technology, a developer and manufacturer of advanced VoIP phones for the enterprise and residential markets, has announced that it has joined the Fonality (News - Alert) Authorized Certified Ecosystem program.

The FACE program certifies third party products for its trixbox CE, trixbox Pro and PBXtra to enable customers and resellers to deploy them with complete confidence. This announcement certifies snom’s 3xx series VoIP phones and m3 IP Dect phone as field-ready products for Fonality’s fully open and free trixbox CE software platform.
"snom and Fonality both share a deep commitment to delivering open standard VoIP products and systems tailored to meet the needs of the underserved small and medium business market," said Dr. Michael Knieling, snom executive vice president of marketing and sales, in a Tuesday statement.
"By partnering with Fonality, snom can deliver an advanced, open source IP PBX (News - Alert) solution that enables SMBs to enjoy cost-effective, productivity enhancing business communications."

Those companies that are Fonality FACE partners are designated as providing the highest quality technology and the deepest integration with the trixbox CE platform. Fonality provides support discounts and incentives to resellers and IT consultants who select FACE-certified hardware products when building Fonality phone systems for their customers.

"Malfunctioning hardware and non-compliant providers are a big problem in the open source telephony market," said Chris Vuillaume (News - Alert), Fonality vice president of business development and channel, in the Tuesday statement.
"FACE allows customers to deploy phone systems with complete confidence and we're happy to welcome snom into the FACE ecosystem for trixbox CE."

Fonality provides business phone systems and contact center solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. The company’s IP-PBX VoIP phone systems are used by more than 5,000 companies and 100,000 end users in 100 countries. The PBXtra and trixbox Pro product lines are based on Fonality’s Anywhere Management hybrid-hosted architecture, plus an improved version of Asterisk.

VoIP telephones and related equipment from snom technology AG is based on Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP). snom has also been recognized for its high quality, customizable and cost-effective business solutions. All of the company’s software resides in the firmware on the phones to make it easier for users to download updates and new features.

As the quality and security of VoIP technology and systems continues to improve, the demand for VoIP phones is also growing. As a result, Fonality is seeing increased demand for its solutions.

To ensure that all customers are receiving high quality solutions and installations, the company strategically formed its FACE program. As a new member, snom will be able capitalize on increased opportunities and reach into new markets.
Fonality is a Diamond sponsor of Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO — the biggest and most comprehensive IP communications event of the year. ITEXPO (News - Alert) will take place in Los Angeles, California, September 16-18, 2008, featuring three valuable days of exhibits, conferences, and networking opportunities you can’t afford to miss.
