Allowing companies to exchange information and work together effectively in a secure, scalable and manageable environment, Smoothstone (News - Alert) IP Communications has launched Awareness Messaging and Presence (AMP), a multi–channel (voice, chat and collaboration) platform.

Included as a no-charge option for users of Smoothstone's VoiceMaxx cloud-based PBX (News - Alert) platform, the AMP application is available immediately.

Getting the directory integration, encryption, chat logging and virus protection required for large-scale deployments, the enterprise can deploy a single, cloud-based application with Smoothstone AMP.  AMP is a single, converged messaging platform that provides instant messaging, group chats, voice calls and file sharing. To reach the right people across their network in an efficient and effective manner, these user-based tools are designed to allow consistent presence visibility and communication access.

Facilitating users to monitor visual indicators of the online and phone status of their co–workers for communication availability, AMP features dual presence. Allowing users to set their own online status AMP detects when they are on a call and will automatically post "On the Phone (News - Alert)" or "Do Not Disturb" statuses on behalf of the user, the company stated in a press release.
