How would it be to make low cost international calls easily and reliably from your iPhone (News - Alert)? That's no longer as elusive as it sounds because SmartRoam, the developer of the ChatTime app is now offering an amazing calling plan for calls made to Asia Pacific and India.
ChatTime, an award-winning, free and low cost international calling app that can be used to call any number and any country, has reduced its calling rates to Indian landlines and cell phones to 2.9 cents per minute on a pay-as-you-go basis, according to company officials.
These rates translate into a savings of 58 percent over the previous ChatTime rate and an amazing 70 percent savings when compared to Skype (News - Alert), say officials. It also offers calling plans as low as 1/2 cent per minute for the Asia Pacific.
Charles Tidswell, vice president of marketing at SmartRoam, observed that India accounted for about 25 percent of all traffic and the reduction in calling rates was bound to increase this figure further.
And that's not all that ChatTime has to offer. Even more amazing is the fact that the app doesn't require WiFi (News - Alert) or 3G, but uses the cellular network to route its call.
The advantage is that all outbound calls are converted into incoming calls. So it's just like making a regular call but using the ChatTime dialer instead, fast and easy. App users thus have the triple advantage of low priced calls, facility to call at anytime from anywhere and best of all, audio clarity.
iPhone users making international calls can download ChatTime from the App Store. Along with every new account, 34 minutes of free talk time is provided.
In other industry news Vonage (News - Alert) unveiled a new mobile app for the iPhone and Android smartphones tin February 2012 that affords free calling and messaging along with cheap international calling rates. Vonage Mobile allows users to make free “high-definition” voice over IP calls among each other over WiFi, 3G or 4G data connections, and low-cost calls can also be placed through the app to any landline or cell phone globally.
