At its annual Americas Business Partner Conference (BPC) last week in San Diego, California, Mitel (News - Alert) presented its 2012 Channel Awards to various authorized partners recognizing their achievement in a range of categories.

Windstream Communications in the U.S., Allstream in Canada, and Telmex (News - Alert) in the Caribbean and Latin America regions were honored with the award for overall Business Partner excellence in the Americas. BT, the U.K. based telecom company, reportedly won the global award for carrier partner of the year. Other honorees include BluePrint Technologies, SunTel Services, Voysis IP Solutions, Telcom Innovations Group and more.

Mitel acknowledged that its award winning partners demonstrated outstanding results in revenue and growth, application sales, customer service and quality, marketing efforts, and technical expertise.

“Over the past year, we have focused on aligning our channel partners with our geographic expansion and the re-vectoring of our product portfolio to leverage our leadership in virtualization. This year's winners exemplify the expertise, behaviors, and customer care qualities that reinforce their status as trusted advisors to our growing list of customers. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved in this past year”, said Rich McBee (News - Alert), CEO and president of Mitel, in a press release.

Mitel explained that its goal is to attract and retain the best-of-breed channel partners in the industry and its success can be attributed to the dedication and commitment of these partners to ensuring customer experience is a positive one. The company’s global channel model will further equip its channel partners to go to market easily and successfully and together deliver innovative unified communications solutions to customers.

The Business Partner awards recognize performance during Mitel’s financial year, which runs May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012. In order to appreciate its partners at the BPC, Mitel had arranged for a live concert aboard the USS Midway with retro soul crooner Mayer Hawthorne and The County.
