Dialexia Communications has announced that Billerica Public Schools, a School district of the town of Billerica, Mass, has selected Dialexia's flagship product, Dial-Office, a multifaceted SIP-based IP-PBX (News - Alert).
Officials said the Billerica Public Schools evaluated over five IP-PBX vendors and application servers and chose Dial-Office because of features such as scalability, integrated solution, interface, cost and usability.
Mark Bishop, Network Solutions (News - Alert) Manager of Billerica Public Schools explained that the Dial-Office solution was the most comprehensive among the options they evaluated.
“In less than a few weeks, and at one of the lowest cost per extension in the district school, we were able to get a complete infrastructure setup. From DID management, CPE Auto-provisioning, customer Web interface we were able to focus on adding new extensions and relying on Dial-Office to deliver the rest," said Bishop.
Dial-Office is a SIP-based IP-PBX (a private branch exchange -telephone switching system within an enterprise) that is designed specifically for the rapidly emerging voice and network convergence market.
The PC-based IP Communication Server switches calls between VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol or IP) users on local lines and also allows users to share a certain number of external phone lines.
According to company officials, it can also switch calls between a VoIP users and a traditional telephone user, or between two traditional telephone users in the same way that a conventional PBX does.
A low cost Internet alternative to the traditional circuit-switched enterprise phone system, officials said the features of Dial-Office include unified voicemail messaging, call presence, auto attendant, call conferencing, call recording, IVR and soft phone with receptionist console.
By providing high voice quality and interactive tools to end users, Dial-Office helps to increase productivity, lower communication costs, and enhance customer service.
