Fluke Networks Intros VoIP Enterprise Service Kit
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
Fluke Networks reportedly has
launched a new VoIP Enterprise Service Kit that’s designed to hasten the deployment of IP telephony phones over existing network infrastructures.
The kit includes a cable qualification tester, inline performance tester and digital probe. The test tools help technicians quickly eliminate the most common problems associated with VoIP installations.
The kit will be welcomed by technicians that – until now – had to use the tool kit to check only the cable integrity without looking at VoIP performance. Also, the existing tools only look at the VoIP phone and don’t test the cabling’s ability to transmit voice traffic.
The new kit can test both infrastructure and phone performance while the technician is on site. This capability reduces both the risk of rework and call-backs. Elaborating further on this new kit, the officials say that it is built around the CableIQ Qualification Tester that checks cable bandwidth.
The kit also includes the NetTool Series II inline tester with VoIP Testing Option. This unique tester places NetTool between the IP phone and network allowing users to see into VoIP calls. Fluke Networks (

Officials say that the IntelliTone probe can locate the digital tone generated by both the CableIQ Qualification Tester and NetTool Inline Tester. The VoIP Enterprise Service Kit also includes six remote office Ids that can identify cable outlets at the far end of a link.
Earlier this week, Fluke
launched its NetAlly VoIP Assessment and Troubleshooting Software, version 7.0. The company has designed the new software package to eliminate risk associated with deploying or expanding VoIP services. V7.0 assesses the current state of the network and previews the service before it is deployed on that network.
