Quebec, Canada-based Media5 Corporation has announced that its Media5-Fone SIP client is now interoperable with pbxnsip’s (News - Alert) award-winning SIP-based IP-PBX.

Media5 announced the release of Media5-Fone, earlier this month, a full-fledged SIP client; the offering is based on the M5T SIP Client Mobility SDK and offers the Apple iPhone (News - Alert) a new SIP softphone with best-in-class voice clarity.

With the interoperability, Media5-Fone SIP client has become an assured, reliable, seamless solution for iPhone application developers and will take away the labor and expertise once needed to test and implement PBX (News - Alert) and SIP Client solutions.

"Interoperability with pbxnsip’s SIP-based IP-PBX demonstrates Media5's flexibility and reliability in supporting leading-edge IP multimedia systems," said Samuel Guénette, General Manager of M5T. "As the market adoption for iPhone applications increases, developers are seeing real benefits in utilizing solutions that Interop seamlessly."

Media5 Corporation has leveraged the leading technologies of Mediatrix Telecom (News - Alert) and M5T to develop advanced, secure, and survivable Multi-Media over Internet Protocol (MMoIP) products, technologies and services for Service Providers and Enterprise Networks.

"pbxnsip is working to bring the benefits of the powerful combination of our IP-PBX solution and the technologies of Media5 to the iPhone application developer’s world," said Kevin Moroz, COO at pbxnsip. "There are many looking for a robust, feature-rich softphone to be used with the pbxnsip offering. Now these developers have a softphone that is compliant with the pbxnsip solution and for the iPhone world.”

pbxnsip manufactures SIP-based Private Branch Exchange (PBX) telephone systems. Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP) is used for connecting to attached devices like telephones, PSTN gateways and SIP service providers while the pbxnsip PBX bundles up components from different vendors together in an enterprise communication system.
