Berlin-based Next Generation Networks and Access Gateway (News - Alert) vendor TELES, said that it has enhanced its integrated services digital network (ISDN) Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Gateway portfolio with a new 8 BRI port VoIP Gateway.

This latest offering has been designed to meet the demand for a high density, high performance solution for connecting enterprises to public telephony.

“The addition of the new VoIPBOX BRI 8 to our portfolio is part of our long term commitment to provide our customers in Europe with the best-in-class ISDN solutions to enable a smooth migration into the NGN world,” said product marketing director Avi Ben Shlush.

The new product is expected to allow VoIP service providers and system integrators that address business customers, with the ability to offer a migration path to VoIP without having to sacrifice existing investment in private branch exchange (PBX) infrastructure.

Moreover, the TELES (News - Alert) VoIPBOX BRI also provides enhanced functionality. This includes an integrated, feature-rich IP PBX-in-a-box, advanced LCR functionality with AOC generation, secure real-time transport protocol (SRTP) support, and also multiple media handling features.

The offering is equipped with an intuitive installation wizard, and a comprehensive set of management tools. Company officials said that the tools allow customers to provision and operate small to large installations from a single location using either a Web-based management tool or TELES NMS.

TELES VoIPBOX products are available with up to 6 PRI or 8 SW configured NT TE BRI ISDN interfaces. All the products support session initiation protocol (SIP) and H.323 VoIP signaling and, leverage DSP technology so customers can select multiple LBR coders in addition to RTP multiplexing for limited BW installation, DTMF detection and fax support using T.38, and QoS and traffic shaping.
