Opengear, a provider of next generation console server and remote management solutions, signed an agreement with Reilly Telecom Inc., to integrate its solutions with AlarmTraq, enabling the company to expand remote management of Avaya (News - Alert) products.

With this integration and support, both the companies believe that organizations can securely manage and monitor Avaya Communications Manager Servers from a remote location over a dial-up secure SSH tunnel for administration and maintenance.

 AlarmTraq is a proactive remote alarm monitoring and management solution for Avaya dealers in the SMB and large enterprise markets. It takes proactive corrective action to remotely diagnose and resolve problems associated with each alarm.

"AlarmTraq is used by a number of important Avaya customers," said Todd Rychecky, VP of Sales and Marketing at Opengear (News - Alert) North America, in a press release. "The integration with Opengear gives AlarmTraq users more flexibility to easily manage Avaya equipment remotely and securely.”

The new integrated AlarmTraq solution uses the Opengear CM4001 and the Opengear ACM5003-M. The Opengear ACM5000 is one of Opengear's fastest growing product lines and is used across many companies and organizations, including financial institutions, government agencies and hospital systems.

The ACM5000 family uses an embedded FIPS140-2 cryptographic module that has been validated and has received Certificate #1051. The ACM5000 family also employs IPSec VPN for advanced security to meet the most demanding applications.
