Advanced American Telephones now has availability for the AT&T Telephony Product Line – and includes a SIP Gateway (News
- Alert) and software enhancements for the Synapse business phone system. The two additions increase flexibility and ease of use for small to medium-sized businesses, the company explained.
The Synapse software upgrade includes multiple auto attendants; automatic routing of calls; and the setting of holiday schedules for each auto attendant. In addition, a new voicemail-to-email forwarding feature lets users receive voicemails via laptops and smartphones, the company added.
There is also upgraded routing of inbound calls either through analog PSTN lines or direct inward dialing, the company said. On the other hand, outbound calls can be restricted and callers are pre-authorized, such as for long distance or international calls.
It was also reported that the new SIP Gateway (SB67070) provides access to VoIP service – which is more economical than alternatives – and allows businesses to use unused bandwidth in networks for voice calling.
“Today's employees are more on-the-go than ever, and the resulting high communication demand means SMBs need phone systems that are sophisticated, scalable and cost-effective,” Graham Williams, vice president of the SMB group at Advanced American Telephones, said in a recent company statement carried on TMCnet. “The enhanced performance of the new Synapse software, coupled with the cost-saving features of Internet telephony service using the SIP Gateway, creates a perfect solution for the evolving, fast-paced SMB environment.”
The company also noted that the Synapse platform supports up to 100 extensions. The Synapse SB67031 can be used with any existing Synapse telephone system. In addition, the Synapse SB67031 connects to Power over Ethernet (PoE), so external power supplies are not needed. And it lets employees at SMB communicate whether they are in an office or elsewhere.
