Info-Tech Research Group Honors Mitel with Champion Status

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Info-Tech Research Group has conferred Champion status to Mitel (News - Alert) Networks in its IP Telephony Vendor Landscape report. Companies in the IP Telephony field are thoroughly reviewed by the Vendor Landscape report before proposing an independent perspective on the different IP Telephony products presented in the market.

With complete concentration on business communications, Mitel offers flexible deployment choices along with a solid unified communications suite. Mitel’s IPT solutions offering different mobility options have been combined with VMware View 5 to highlight the company’s top position in virtualization.

A single-software stream can be also separated from proprietary hardware using the Freedom Architecture incorporated by Mitel’s IPT solutions. Info-Tech Research Group has recognized these positive features of Mitel in its evaluation report.

In a release, Parag Patel, vice president for Global Strategic Alliances at VMware said, “Our partnership with Mitel has been instrumental in demonstrating to businesses the benefits of virtualizing their unified communications platform. We consider Mitel to be a leader in this area and look forward to continue working with them to deliver innovative solutions for virtualized voice.”

Info-Tech Research Group had evaluated ten companies in terms of their offerings and enterprise strategy as part of its Vendor Landscape report for IP Telephony. Three brilliant vendors including Mitel have been recognized as the Champions in the IP Telephony category.

Stephen Beamish (News - Alert), vice president for Corporate Marketing and Business Development at Mitel said, “Mitel strives to provide customers with a best-in-class communications solution that provides the most flexibility possible. This enables customers to leverage their existing infrastructure without prohibitive overhead costs. We are very pleased to be recognized by Info-Tech Research Group as one of the Champions in IPT and we feel this acknowledges the strength of this approach.”

In other news, Mitel recently announced that Mitel NetSolutions, the company's service provider division offering cloud-based UCC services across the United States, has been certified as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

In addition to its broadened CLEC status, Mitel NetSolutions has announced significant updates to its AnyWare hosted cloud-based communications service, including deep mobile integration in order to help small enterprises leverage the productivity benefits of a mobile workforce.
