The launch of MyGlobalTalk Rove (News - Alert) has been announced by Geos Communications. MyGlobalTalk Rove, a unique smartphone application virtually eliminates roaming charges from wireless carriers for international travelers. Geos' VOIP application, MyGlobalTalk is integrated with Agito Networks' award-winning enterprise mobility technology on top-selling smartphones, including BlackBerry (News - Alert) and iPhone for MyGlobalTalk Rove. Using the MyGlobalTalk network, customers can make calls over Wi-Fi or 3G networks without incurring roaming charges, and hence substantially reduce the customers' per minute costs.

The MyGlobalTalk Rove product is a result of a mutual marketing and distribution agreement between Geos and Agito Networks (News - Alert). A customized version of Agito Networks' RoamAnywhere Mobility Router and smartphone client is offered by Geos to its enterprise and SMB customers, as part of the agreement. Agito Networks also has the right to distribute the Geos MyGlobalTalk service to its customers.

The key features of the Agito Networks powered MyGlobalTalk Rove solution include Wi-Fi and 3G calling to reduce cellular minutes and international roaming charges. Roaming charges are reduced where Wi-Fi/3G access is not available as the calls automatically route through local MyGlobalTalk access numbers which are available in 51 countries.

Along with improved in-building coverage with Wi-Fi solutions for mobile phones, PBX (News - Alert) functionality on smartphones will be available. Customers will have one phone number anywhere in the world with extension dialing facility from the mobile phones. Another key feature is international rates for all calls by combining MyGlobalTalk Rove with MyGlobalTalk SIP Trunking.
