Positive Networks and Jamcracker Offer Hosted Security Solutions

The PositivePRO hosted virtual private network (VPN) service is now available for resale through the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network (JSDN). Jamcracker also intends to offer Positive Networks’ (News - Alert) PhoneFactor two-factor authentication technology as part of its on-demand services.

The alliance will enable Jamcracker (News - Alert) to offer PositivePRO hosted VPN and PhoneFactor authentication technology through its global services-delivery network to resellers including communications and IT services companies.

Chris Austin, director Channel Sales and Alliances, Positive Networks indicated that the new partnership will allow Positive Networks to successfully leverage Jamcracker’s proven global network of service providers and resellers. He pointed out that Jamcracker is an effective distribution partner and will make it easier for service providers to implement our solutions while increasing our market reach.

By using new managed services from Positive Networks, organizations can add multiple layers of security without the additional costs that are associated with implementing traditional hardware VPN and authentication technologies.

PositivePRO from Positive Networks combines a client-based VPN, a clientless, Web-based SSL VPN, and remote desktop control into a single remote access service. This service can be scaled to support thousands of users. The simple-to-implement PositivePRO can provide complete remote access endpoint security control in 24 hours or less.

Positive Networks’ PhoneFactor technology is a free, phone-based two-factor authentication service that eliminates the need for end users to carry around an external authentication device. By using any phone as the second authentication factor, PhoneFactor eliminates the need to purchase and manage expensive tokens. The company offers PhoneFactor free in the US, Canada, and 30+ other countries for companies who want a powerful and simple means of authenticating end users.

“The Jamcracker Services Delivery Network enables service providers to create branded bundles of on-demand application services from a catalogue of `best-of-breed' products like PositivePRO hosted VPN and PhoneFactor two-factor authentication from Positive Networks,” said Steve Crawford, vice president of marketing at Jamcracker in a statement.

Crawford added that these managed security offerings, which require no infrastructure changes for the business customer, are a perfect fit for the company’s On-Demand Services portfolio.

JSDN enables communication service providers, resellers, and software vendors to deliver on-demand applications to businesses and consumers without complex, costly technology investments.

Positive Networks is the provider of hosted security services, including the award-winning PositivePRO VPN service and the PhoneFactor two-factor authentication service.
