Qwest Communications to Offer Network Services to Whitney Education Group

Qwest (News - Alert) Communications International Inc. has announced it entered into an agreement with Whitney Education Group (WEG).

As per the agreement which is valid for three years, Qwest will offer nationwide high-speed data transmission, Internet, voice and hosting services to WEG, which is a part of Whitney Information Network.

The Whitney Information Network is involved in providing post-secondary education and training courses to students in financial subjects in the U.S, Canada and the U.K.

WEG courses in real estate investment training will be taught by live workshops, online training, on-demand classes, mentoring, personal phone coaching, and multimedia training materials and software.

Sundeep Dronawat, chief information officer, Whitney Information Network said, “Whether they’re sitting in a classroom, on an audio conference or online accessing course materials, WEG students expect their learning experience to be first-rate and flawless. Qwest took the time to understand our business goals and the educational needs of our students and then created a network solution to support the success of both.”

Qwest made use of multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) and audio conferencing as well as Internet, local, and hosting services to design a network which would connect WEG locations in Florida, Utah, the UK and Canada. The network is capable of delivering the company’s online learning tools reliably, balancing the critical business traffic.

Tom Richards, executive vice president, Qwest Business Markets Group commented, “As a strong supporter of education, Qwest is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Whitney Education Group. Because WEG coursework combines traditional classroom teaching and online learning, we understood that network speed and dependability would be critical.”

“Using MPLS, hosting, and local and Internet services, Qwest designed a solution with the speed and network integrity capable of delivering a seamless learning experience to every WEG student,” added Richards.
