Dialogic (News - Alert) Corporation, a global provider of telecommunications media and signaling technologies, has announced today that its Dialogic 2000 Series and Dialogic IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateways are compliant with key Session Initiation Protocol (SIP
)-based IP technology solutions from Avaya (News - Alert).
The high-density IMG 1010 links all types of PBXs and networks to help businesses to meet the demand of large managed or premises-based audio conferencing deployments. The new solution is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with: Avaya Communication Manager Release 4.0.1; Avaya Meeting Exchange 1.0; and Avaya SIP Enablement Services 4.0.
The IMG 1010 became a new addition to the Dialogic portfolio as a result of the company’s acquisition of EAS Group Inc. and its subsidiaries in October of 2007. Subsidiaries include Cantata Technology (News - Alert), Inc., Excel Switching Corporation, Snowshore Networks Inc., and Brooktrout Technology Inc.
A set of mid-density media gateways, the Dialogic 2000 Media Gateway (News - Alert) Series (DMG2000) seamlessly merge traditional telephony with IP
networks to help businesses migrate to IP telephony.
Working together, Dialogic and Avaya will enable new and differentiated voice over IP (VoIP
) applications and interconnect VoIP services for multisite and multivendor organizations.
The DMG2000 gateways now are compliance-tested by Avaya for complete compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager Release 4.0 and Avaya SIP Enablement Services 3.1.
“Dialogic and Avaya have a long history of building successful solution sets together,” stated Jim Machi, Dialogic’s senior vice president of marketing, in a Tuesday statement.
“The Dialogic media gateway
portfolio brings decades of application enablement experience to the transition from traditional circuit-switched networks and PBXs to VoIP, using the SIP protocol. Avaya partners and customers can now rely on compliance-tested gateways from Dialogic to migrate to VoIP interoffice networking and add cost-effective conference solutions such as Avaya Meeting Exchange.”
“As a longstanding Dialogic partner, we are excited to deliver their high-quality gateway solutions to Avaya reseller partners,” said Yvette McKenzie, vice president of merchandising, ScanSource Communications, in Tuesday’s statement.
McKenzie continued: “Resellers will also benefit from our commitment to delivering value-added services and support in concert with the Avaya/Dialogic solution. What’s more, Catalyst Telecom, our sister sales unit, is Avaya’s largest worldwide distributor, ensuring resellers have access to all Avaya communications products from one distribution family.”
Dialogic is also a member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program, an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network
“Companies like Dialogic are expanding the choices available to Avaya customers,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in Tuesday’s statement.
“With a broad selection of standards-based solutions that are compliance-tested for interoperability, businesses can communications-enable their operations and make critical information readily available to both clients and employees.”
A company that achieves Avaya compliance can celebrate the guarantee that it will be able to extend its reach and strengthen its market positioning.
Avaya has such a strong presence and developed a strategic interoperability program with its DevConnect initiative, that any company that becomes a partner can benefit from the brand recognition and the opportunities afforded through the program. For Dialogic, the best is yet to come.
