management systems provider Viola Networks (News - Alert) announced on Tuesday that its integrated VoIP assessment and monitoring suite, the NetAlly Lifecycle Manager, has now been rated compliant with key IP telephony systems from Avaya (News - Alert).
The NetAlly Lifecycle Manager allows businesses to benefit from shorter deployment cycles, speedier troubleshooting and the ability to ensure predictable and reliable network performance levels. The application has now been compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communications Manager 3.1.2, an IP telephony application.
"VoIP adoption rates are nearing an inflection point due to cost savings and the increased flexibility and efficiency that convergence delivers," said Viola's president and CEO Uri Feldman in a statement. "As a result of Viola's compliance with Avaya, our enterprise, system integrator and service provider customers now can more confidently deploy VoIP systems, knowing that our open, standards-based platforms can help them easily incorporate new technology, speed installation and maximize cost effectiveness."
Viola Networks also became a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program, which opens the doors to companies wanting to join Avaya to develop, market and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology. As a member of the program, Viola will be eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab located in Lincroft, New Jersey.

"They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available - getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."
Viola follows AudioCodes (News - Alert) as the company also achieved Avaya's compliance for its suite of media gateways. AudioCodes announced it achieved this last month. The move will make AudioCodes' MediaPack MP-11x and Mediant 1000 gateways compatible with Avaya's IP telephony systems.
AudioCodes' MediaPack and Mediant gateways allow for connectivity to legacy analog phones, fax machines and remote branch offices, as well as connectivity to the PSTN by using digital and analog interfaces.
As part of the Avaya compatibility assessment, AudioCodes' gateways had to be tested for interoperability with Avaya's Communication Manager 3.1.2, an IP telephony application, and Avaya's SIP Enablement Services 3.1. Avaya's SIP Enablement Services act as a bridge between the PSTN and the Internet by offering a standards-based architecture for telephony, and instant messaging (IM).
