Ingate Systems (News - Alert) has established the SIP
Trunking Network at SIPtrunk.org, an educational resource on SIP trunking.
In an industry-wide effort to educate enterprises about SIP trunking, this portal will aggregate information from throughout the SIP trunking
community to help simplify deployments.
The company points out that there is a strong demand for information on SIP trunking among enterprise users.
“Recent research, including a January 2007 report from Aberdeen (News - Alert) Group (Got SIP?: Savings, Simplicity and Scalability), confirms this,” said Olle Westerberg, chief executive officer, Ingate Systems in a statement to the press.
SIP Trunking Network enables collaboration with other SIP trunking vendors, service providers and thought leaders to provide a single authoritative resource for customers. The resource offers accurate information about issues, benefits and how to deploy SIP trunks.
Many organizations have reportedly joined the SIP Trunking Network community, agreeing to add their unique insights and other content. These community members include: SIP trunking equipment vendors 3Com, Acme Packet, BroadSoft, Digium/Asterisk, Mitel, NexTone, Objectworld, Pingtel, ShoreTel, Sphere; and SIP trunking service providers BandTel (News - Alert), Bandwidth.com, Cbeyond and VoEX.
TMCnets Internet Telephony Magazine is also a member of the SIP Trunking Network community.
SIPtrunk.org boasts several features including a discussion forum where visitors can learn and debate in realtime, white papers from IP-PBX
vendors, Internet Telephony service providers (ITSPs) and Ingate Systems, guest editorials, an educational center to include background information on the technology, critical issues and SIP trunk deployments and a resource list, for additional research on SIP trunking.
“SIPtrunk.org addresses a vital need for accurate information on SIP trunking from every perspective,” said Rich Tehrani, President, TMC (News - Alert) in a statement to the press.
“End users and even those businesses considering SIP trunking can now turn to this single resource where they can get all the information the need to make an educated decision about how to successfully deploy SIP trunks,” he added.
SIPtrunk.org also aims to educate the enterprise community about the benefits of providing secure solutions that adhere to industry standards specifically, the SIPconnect standard established by the SIP Forum (News - Alert).
Ingate Systems develops firewall
technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge.
