UK-based Sky, a broadband and home phone provider, appointed Greenlight to work on search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns across Sky’s diverse range of products and services for the delivery of high quality traffic to its online properties.
Greenlight was appointed after Sky’s digital review in which Sky worked with the best agency partners in the U.K. for ensuring optimum delivery across all aspects of digital engagement, said Sky officials.
It offers search marketing services besides being a technology firm. Greenlight serves clients like Santander, Vodafone (News - Alert) U.K., New Look, Interflora, Co-operative Financial Services, Nespresso and ghd. GreenlightSearch publishes industry reports, original research, and its officials speak at trade events and deliver a highly regarded search training program with the IDM.
Digital technology has been adopted in a big way by Sky. According to company officials it plays an integral role across Sky’s business including customer acquisitions, customer service, brand and marketing, online products and services like Sky Player and online publishing. Online publishing is done via the Sky Portal, which includes Skysports.com and Skynews.com.
Greenlight is expected to work on all of Sky’s transaction and content-related sites for improving online rankings, traffic and sales throughout the sites.
In a press release, John Orriss, director of Subscriber Growth and Sales for BSkyB (News - Alert), said, “Digital is becoming central to what we do at Sky. Successfully engaging with our customers online is getting ever more important, so to continue our leadership in this area we need to make sure we are working with the right mix of digital expertise, and experienced partners in the industry.”

Andreas Pouros, Chief Operating Officer at Greenlight expressed his pleasure on working with Sky. Pouros pointed out that Greenlight has been selected by Sky to optimize the delivery of results for Sky’s leading brands, besides also for handling its SEO requirements.
Sky operates a multichannel, multi-platform television service in the U.K. and Ireland, serving more than 10 million homes. Its offering includes Sky Arts which is a dedicated arts channel brand in the U.K.; Sky Sports for sports broadcasting and Sky News offering television news.
