VoIP Call Center Provider Broadvox Turns to Calysto Communications for PR Strategy Support

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Calysto Communications, a firm focused on global public relations and social media marketing for the communications industry, has announced that Broadvox has selected Calysto to assist in public relations and social media marketing strategies. With this strategic partnership, Broadvox (News - Alert) will be able to capitalize on its expansion to deliver collaboration and communications solutions to support the VoIP call center provider.

As part of this agreement, Calysto will manage a comprehensive public relations program for the VoIP call center solutions provider. This program will include messaging, the development of press releases and other written materials; speakers’ bureau; and media, analyst and blogger relations. Calysto will also focus on strategizing on the social media activities of the company, which includes the creation of a full-scale LinkedIn (News - Alert) presence for Broadvox.

“Thanks to our cloud-based business model, Calysto was able to quickly assemble a VP-level team for Broadvox with team members located in both Atlanta and Dallas, near the Cypress and Broadvox headquarters respectively,” said Laura Borgstede, Calysto CEO, in a statement. “It’s just one example of how Calysto’s cloud-based business model allows us to cost-effectively assemble an experienced, custom-built team that meets each client’s unique needs.”

Since its launch in 2001, Broadvox has been providing wholesale carrier services over a robust U.S. IP network. In addition to offering VoIP call center platforms, the company supports a network that includes Canada and Puerto Rico. The VoIP call center provider is focused on keeping with the latest in business VoIP services and plans to expand to Europe in 2011.

A commercial SIP Trunking platform was added to Broadvox’s offering in 2007. This service allowed for the launch of the VoIP call center. Known as the GO!SIP Trunking platform, products designed by Broadvox deliver discounted VoIP phone service nationwide. In 2008, the VoIP call center provider began selling broadband to deliver high levels of connectivity, voice quality and security.

“Calysto has hit the ground running, and we are impressed with the Calysto team’s knowledge of public relations, social media and the IP communications industry,” said David Byrd (News - Alert), Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We look forward to working with Calysto to promote our hosted cloud solutions with robust voice and data communications services, and supporting our entry into new IP telephony and application markets for SMBs, Enterprises and carriers.”

The company acquired Cypress Communications (News - Alert) on January 7, 2011, gaining access to the company’ award-winning Hosted Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and enterprises to the Broadvox portfolio. Cypress was previously listed as a Top Ten Hosted VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) provider – ranked #4 in ABI Research’s Top Ten Matrix Ranking.
