Ixia has announced that its Large Scale Testing (LST) with Multicast Virtual Private Networks (MVPN’s), Point to MultiPoint (P2MP) Label Switched Path (LSP), and Label Distribution Protocol- Border Gateway (News - Alert) Protocol  (LDP-BGP) Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) service and control plane interworking, was successfully validated using Juniper Networks’ MX Series Ethernet Service Router and Ixia’s (News - Alert) IxNetwork test application. 

Officials said that with this LST validation it has now achieved new levels of test case scenarios, a wide range of protocol coverage and testing accuracy that allows Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMS), carriers, service providers and enterprises to test the networks and deploy the networking solutions that they provide to significant numbers of simultaneous multiple locations.

“Juniper Networks (News - Alert) MX Series Ethernet Services Router delivers high density and innovative layer 2/3 Ethernet services at scale,” said Mehdi Sif, Director of Technical Marketing at Juniper Networks. “Ixia’s IxNetwork ViperCore enabled Juniper to fully stress the comprehensive capabilities of our multi-access, multi-protocol, multi-domain MPLS VPN toolkit. In addition, IxNetwork’s TrueView convergence time measurement allowed Juniper to measure multi-service convergence and quality of experience with precision and repeatability.”

The IxNetwork solution reduces NEM’s time to market and service providers’ solution set-up, trouble-shooting and rectification time with tools that either simulate the test scenarios or help in developing testing methods, and intelligently control the tests without any type of intervention.

Officials said that at the heart of the new solution is its new large-scale, high productivity ViperCore technology that tests routers and other devices by replicating, looping and automating different simultaneous combinations of use case instances, significant numbers of users, applications and administrative domains.

The solution also guarantees that VPN’s are isolated from each other and Quality of Service Service Level Agreement conditions are met. IxNetwork’s FlowDetective provides the requisite tools and data to zero in on a problem.

Earlier Ixia had unveiled, reported TMCnet, its IxLoad testing initiative and TestTalk social media web site for the test and measurement industry at Interop (News - Alert) 2009.
