NTT America Names New COO

Telecom service provider NTT America has promoted its chief technology officer Kazuhiro Gomi to the post of chief operating officer (COO). In his new role, Gomi will lead the newly created Enterprise Solutions Business Unit (ESBU).

 
In addition to his new post as COO,. Gomi continues to lead the Global IP Network business unit and retains his position as Chief Technology Officer of NTT (News - Alert) America, the IP backbone service provider said in a statement.
 
NTT America's parent company, NTT Communications (News - Alert), is the largest telecommunications company in Asia and one of the largest in the world.
 
 The newly created ESBU will leverage the resources of its Arcstar' global private network services and Enterprise Hosting services to offer managed IT infrastructure solutions to enterprise customers. Moreover, the new business unit will play a leading role in expanding the company in the US market, besides beefing up network infrastructure and data centers.
 
“Enterprise customers expect us to deliver an expanding menu of standardized solutions while having the know-how to offer customized solutions where appropriate,” Gomi said in a statement. “Our Enterprise Solutions Business Unit will have the resources to satisfy such customer needs from the mid-markets up through the largest multi-national firms. Our integrated product sets, supported by a streamlined operation, are designed to increase customer satisfaction and enhance our capability to serve as an information communications technology (ICT) solution partner for enterprise customers worldwide.”
 
The company provides data transport capabilities, including enterprise hosting, managed network, and IP networking services for enterprise customers and service providers worldwide.
 
NTT Communications' extensive infrastructure includes Arcstar' Global IP-VPN and Global e-VLAN, as well as a Tier-1 IP backbone reaching more than 150 countries in partnership with major Internet service providers, and secure data centers in Asia, North America and Europe.
