Net Optics, providing intelligent network monitoring solutions announced that it has joined F5 Networks’ Technology Alliance Program. F5 specializes in Application Delivery Networking and Net Optics (News - Alert) will gain access to F5 technology solutions and resources which will enhance the value of deploying the companies’ products.

The Net Optics 1 Gigabit iBypass Switch has been selected as a “fail to wire” solution after tests for single box deployments of F5 Networks’ (News - Alert) BIG-IP Application Security Manager which is an in-line Web application firewall.

The iBypass Switch is a passive, in-line bypass switch which augments network visibility, improves network reliability and makes network management simpler. It provides a fail-open network path during power loss and is capable of automatically or manually initiating and enabling bypass mode when appliances fail or in case of maintenance, repair and removal.

The switch also features options for media conversion, remote management, integrated traffic monitoring, and programmable Heartbeat packet parameters to monitor the ongoing health of the BIG-IP ASM (News - Alert) appliance.

“Net Optics provides intelligent network monitoring access solutions that enable enterprises, service providers and government agencies to maintain continuous operations while improving their security posture,” said Bob Shaw, president and CEO at Net Optics.

Shaw said, “Our customers value our commitment to helping them gain 100 percent visibility into their network traffic while streamlining the daily management of their network infrastructure. Partnering with F5 provides us with the opportunity and resources to enhance our value proposition for joint customers.”

The TAP partnership enables F5 to promote assured interoperability and extended innovation with Net Optics providing a framework for further collaboration, confirmed sources.

Calvin Rowland, senior director of business development at F5 Networks expressed his happiness at Net Optics’ being part of the Technology Alliance Program. He added that partnering with companies is imperative to provide a strategic benefit to customers, as well as the business.

Through dynamic partnerships with technology leaders in adjacent markets, F5 helps users extend the value of their application delivery environments, and joint customers can be assured of interoperability and optimized performance when deploying Net Optics and F5 solutions together, he emphasized.

Net Optics’ innovative solutions helps customers to access and monitor networks by employing intrusion detection and prevention systems, protocol analyzers, firewalls and network probes.
