D-Link Introduces New VIP Partner Program and Partner Portal

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

In an increasingly competitive world, it is important for the sellers to provide better services for the customers and compete for increased market share. Looking to help its partners achieve this, D-Link, has introduced a new Value in Partnership (VIP) Partner Program.

This program recognizes partners' contribution towards delivering D-Link (News - Alert)-based solutions and represents D-Link's commitment to building strong partner relationships. It also offers flexibility to enable partners to respond more effectively and more quickly to their customers' needs. Members are eligible to participate in other programs to assist their selling efforts apart from having access to demo product, financing, and joint selling opportunities.

D-Link provides design, manufacture and marketing of advanced networking, broadband, digital, voice and data communications solutions. D-Link's core competency is in Ethernet connectivity. The company provides network connectivity solutions to small and medium sized business in many countries of the world.

"Our Mission - Value In Partnership - embraces our partners' unique value-add capabilities, and rewards mutual success for partners who focus on selling our core networking solutions -- switching, wireless, storage, security and IP surveillance products," said Michael Fox, vice president, US solutions channel for D-Link. "Many of our partners have told us they could easily add revenue to their D-Link solutions business if we gave them the tools."

To gain knowledge, training, and best practices to increase proficiency in selling, installing, and supporting D-Link, the company has created on-line, on-demand training and development programs. Parties who demonstrate the highest levels of technical and sales capabilities are recognized by D-Link Certified Specialist (DCS) and Certified Professional (DCP) Certifications.

Recently, the company offered wireless customers the widely deployed Real Time Location System (RTLS) application suite from Ekahau, Inc., a major player in Wi-Fi-based RTLS. The company's RTLS solution is comprised of location tracking software - that when combined with Wi-Fi tags or other Wi-Fi-enabled devices like phones and laptops - enables organizations to keep close track of employees, inventory and other assets.
