MyVoice Inc. has unveiled TalkRocket Go app, especially for children and adults with speech disabilities, at ISAAC Conference, held in Pittsburgh. The wheelchair-friendly app can be availed for only $99. Users can now link buttons and switches as well as those on wheelchairs to an iPad, iPhone (News - Alert), or iPod with TalkRocket Go, thereby ensuring the use of these controls for speaking aloud words and phrases.

In a release, Tony Gross, Community Director, MyVoice said, “As a parent of a child with special needs, I can tell you TalkRocket Go is going to make a huge difference for so many families, including mine. There’s nothing else quite like it.”

People with disabilities like Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Stroke, are offered realistic verbal communications through synthesis technology utilized by TalkRocket Go. The original TalkRocket Go is currently being used by tens of thousands of people in 30 countries for taking part in social life, accessing education, gaining employment, and sharing the simple pleasure of speaking.

Tyler Austin is a young man with Cerebral Palsy and a user of TalkRocket Go. According to Austin, he will be able to go to camp this summer, where he would be able to use his iPad for communicating with his mother. Austin will be able to use his iPad in an easy manner as he will now be able to mount the iPad on his chair.

MyVoice’s revolutionary technologies like “Locabularies”, which utilizes GPS for offering functional phrases based on a user’s location; and the web-based tool Supporter Studio, which allows families, teachers, and therapists work simultaneously to custom design users’ pictures and vocabulary, are utilized by TalkRocket Go. The app also uses MyVoice’s flip-book-style feature, Swipe Storytelling, which allows easy story-telling and the practice of life skills; along with Full-Screen Scanning, wherein the complete touchscreen is transformed into one large button for improved use by those with physical impairments.

Alex Levy, CEO, MyVoice said, “Watching users learn and grow with MyVoice since our first product in April 2011 has been simply incredible. MyVoice was already more accessible than most communication aids, which can cost thousands of dollars, but we wanted to make TalkRocket Go even more effective and affordable.”
