Infinite Peripherals (News - Alert), Inc. (IPC), a provider of mobile peripheral devices, announced the launch of its Infinea Tab for iPad for Point of Sale (POS) applications.
The new Infinea Tab enhances the functionality of the iPad as an efficient, convenient, mobile point-of-sale (POS) device for retailers. It is designed to save customers and staff time and free up checkout counter space while eliminating long lines in stores.
The compact and easy-to-use Infinea Tab can be connected with the 30-pin connector on the iPad to add a magnetic stripe reader and a 1D or 2D barcode scanner – with optional Bluetooth and/or RFID reader.
The Infinea Tab enhances the ability of iPad to read barcodes, magnetic data from credit cards and loyalty cards, and read-write data via RFID. With the enhanced functionality, the iPad can be used for inventory operations, corporate communications, Internet and Intranet access, along with customer signature acceptance and purchase receipts wirelessly printed or e-mailed.
Infinea Tab is available under four configurations. Infinea Tab MSR comes with a 3-track magnetic stripe reader. Infinea Tab MSR 1D/2D includes 3-track magnetic stripe reader and 1D or 2D barcode scanner while Infinea Tab MSR 1D/2D BT (News - Alert) comes with 3-track magnetic stripe reader, 1D or 2D barcode scanner and Bluetooth.
