Live Nation recently upgraded the Live Nation iPhone (News - Alert) app to version 1.3 that features passport support, passport reset, improved search and location change.

Thanks to the feature of pass support, users now have the option of moving tickets purchased in the Live Nation iPhone app to the new iPhone Passbook application. Company officials said that 70 Live Nation venues currently accept Passbook's 2D barcode for mobile entry into a venue. Plus, the new version offers the advantage of changing passwords within the app.

In comparison to the previous version, version 1.3 offers faster search function. Company officials said that the search results also return the event closest to the user and additional tour dates by that artist. Plus, a new radius slider quickly limits search results by the user's preferred radiance from one to 500 miles.   

Automatically, the app targets the user’s location as well enable change of location directly and easily from the home screen, according to company officials.

In addition to Live Nation concerts and Ticketmaster ticketed concerts, the Live Nation iPhone app also provides immediate, on-the-go access additional independent local shows throughout North America. 

Company officials said that the app will offer tickets on sale information, presale access with no code necessary, exclusive mobile tickets offers, show reminders, set lists, venue information, seat maps, authentic ticket purchases and exclusive content. 

“The Live Nation mobile apps are quickly becoming the new preferred point of purchase for fans, showing tremendous growth patterns amongst our mobile base,” said Michael Rapino, president and chief executive officer at Live Nation Entertainment, adding that the mobile app recently broke new ground by outselling traditional outlets for a Paul McCartney show on sale in Western Canada.
