Blue Nile App has officially launched iTrace, which will help relieve the stress of concerned iPhone users when looking to find and recover their lost Apple (News - Alert) devices.
Giving details, company officials said that the software has a state-of-the-art, built-in voice detection system that is activated by the mere detection of one's voice. One has to simply scream "iPhone (News - Alert)!" and the preselected inbuilt ringer is immediately activated on his or her phone.
According to company officials, iTrace runs quietly in the background and has conveniently has no bearing on the phone's battery life. Users can even select from a long list of free ringtones or simply create one that they’d prefer better; whether one is in a room full of people or in a public setting, the loud ring is unmistakable.
And in case the phone is out of range and use of the voice activation system is not possible, owners can simply send a free text message with the keyword "iTrace" to a dedicated phone number. Within a few minutes, a text reply is received with an exact address of the device's current location.
Company officials pointed out that logging into ones iTrace account online will even show him or her a map display using Google (News - Alert) Maps street view, giving a list of the last 10 locations their iPhone was spotted.
The company also notes that this app is not just for locating your favorite phone, but can also serve as a critical tracking device to ensure the safety of those dear to you. “iTrace not only makes sure that you never part ways with your expensive gadgets, but will also help you keep track of friends and loved ones when they are out of sight,” the company said in a statement.
iTrace boasts a slew of features including an in-built voice activation system to detect voices and activate ringtones; receive SMS with precise last tracked location of phone; download and change ringtones; record your ringtone in your own voice or custom tone; and customize tracking settings for sound and GPS, among other such things.
