PlanGrid, an iPad app and cloud-service platform that improves jobsite efficiency and collaboration, recently announced the release of the PlanGrid 2.2. The newly improved app has been designed to effectively enhance construction project collaboration, which means project teams will now be able to view, share, annotate, and sync project blueprints over their iPad in the cloud.

In a statement, PlanGrid co-founder and CEO Ryan Sutton-Gee, said that, "Blueprints are living documents that change daily or even hourly. Making sure everyone is up to date on revisions is critical to reducing costly mistakes and keeping the project on time and on budget. We've added these new features to help teams of any size stay in sync, save time and money."

PlanGrid 2.2 eliminates the need for maintaining paper-based drawings and mark-ups, thereby enhancing jobsite and project collaboration. Users leveraging the app will benefit from project update timelines; automatic cloud sync of user notes; and master photo sets, which keeps all concerned parties updated about all changes at all times. The company will offer a free iPad Mini for a limited period with every new two-year subscription.

Each team member using PlanGrid is provided with 30,000 PDF project sheets and can quickly view, annotate and collaborate over drawings. Members can also post RFIs and, populate punch lists from their office or while on the go via their iPad devices.

Some of the highlighting features of the new PlanGrid 2.2 include, project update timelines and instant e-mail notifications delivered with a list of all changes introduced from the previous sync as well as daily digest e-mail providing a rundown of all changes introduced within the last 24 hours; Automatic cloud synchronization of the users' personal notes and master project notes, to ensure quick access to all document annotations over iPads and iPhones and cloud-based backup to minimize risk to data if device is lost, damaged or stolen.

Furthermore, the app allows users to add individual photos or even a group of photos to serve as master annotations within a document. All team members can also easily view and save images to the master document, respond to RFIs, and address any other issue. Additionally, the app comes with a number of performance enhancement tools supporting faster document viewing and interaction for even very large project sets.
