Smartphones are the prized possessions for many owners. With smartphones getting costlier and smaller in size, the worry over losing them or misplacing them has been increasing. Losing a smartphone not only costs the owner money, but it also makes him/her lose various other contacts that are stored in that smartphone.
Now, help is on hand. Kensington has announced the introduction of Proximo, a proximity monitoring system which allows smartphone owners to know where their beloved smartphone is. Along with this, they can also constantly know the location of their other valuable things such as keys.
The system is equipped with a Starter Kit that allows users to track their valuables, including their iPhone (News - Alert).
Since iPhone 5/4S was released recently, the timing of introduction of these accessories by Kensington seems to be right in time. Many experts believe that if the smartphone accessories are released right along with their launch, buyers have a more chance of picking up these accessories.
“Proximo (News - Alert) eliminates the everyday anxiety that so many consumers experience when worrying about losing, or having to search for, their most valuable possessions," said Juan Rodriguez, Senior Global Product manager at Kensington.
“We know mobile phones in particular are an essential part of life to our customers, and that more than 70 million smartphones are reported lost or stolen each year. Your downtime and the cost of recovering your lost phone, you can understand why we developed Proximo.”
Kensington has introduced various accessories to explore the burgeoning market for Apple (News - Alert) products. Recently, the company offered continuous power on the go for iPhone 4 users as it released four new accessories. These accessories included a hands free car device, two juice boosting accessories and a battery charging case for the iPhone 4.
