iPhone (News - Alert) users looking for extreme protection of their mobile device look no further. LifeProof, the provider of everyday protective cases for smartphones and tablets, announced starting today, their popular iPhone 4 cases will be available at all Best Buy (News - Alert) and Best Buy Mobile specialty stores.

This latest agreement will make Best Buy the only national retailer to offer LifeProof at this time. The cases retail for $69.95 and can also be purchased on the company’s website.

Gary Rayner, LifeProof founder and CEO, said, “From our experience selling LifeProof on our website, there is a pent up demand for a slim and protective case that is perfect for everyday use. We are confident that LifeProof will be a big seller at Best Buy.”

LifeProof offers an ultra-slim cover that weighs less than an ounce and adds only 1/16” to the depth of your phone while also protecting it from water, dirt, shock and snow.

For users ranging from young families to fitness enthusiasts, road warriors, outdoor adventurers, dirty job workers and those who are accident prone, LifeProof cases are tested to military specifications (MIL-STD-810F-516.5) and can survive being dropped from a height of 6.6 feet onto concrete or being submerged into water at a depth of 6.6 feet.

Imagine being able to text message while in a hot tub, shoot mobile videos from inside the pool, talk while at the beach; these are the promises LifeProof is delivering on.

During an exclusive interview with TMCnet, Rayner said the company spent 18 months and more than $1M to, “meet environmental challenges while maintaining a simple, sleek design.”

“It was an extraordinarily difficult project that many of the industrial design firms initially contacted said could not be done. The company went back to the drawing board five times to get it right, but it achieved its protection and design goals,” Rayner said.
