SnapDat Networks Unveils New Digital Business Card Application for iPhone and iPod Touch

New York-based SnapDat Networks has unveiled a new mobile business card application, SnapDat. This new software application is free and is exclusively designed for iPhone (News - Alert) and iPod Touch.

The patent pending contact management application, SnapDat, facilitates mobile users to instantly exchange contact data in the form of customizable, graphically-rich mobile business cards called SnapCards, thereby enhancing their social or professional interaction.

With SnapDat, the user will be able to establish multiple SnapCard profiles, each with their own unique set of data, design, as well as a profile photo. The user will have to pick the contact data, apply a design from the SnapCard & then save. At present there are only 40 preloaded design templates to create personalized mobile business cards and in future new designs will continue to be added for further customization, said the company.

The new SnapDat user will have to create a SnapID, which is unique for each user and password protected. It is basically the user’s address or user name on the SnapDat system, which is used for sending the user’s SnapCard and for receiving a SnapCard from another SnapDat user. SnapDat also enables a user to send a SnapCard to people who don’t have SnapDat installed on their phone. This is done via vCard attachment.

Chris James, SnapDat founder and CEO, said, "We give mobile users the power to establish social or business connections where they naturally occur - while on the go."

One of the key advantages of SnapDat is that the users can exchange contact information whether they are in the same location or even thousands of miles away. The application can integrate with the iPhone and iPod touch’s address book and the details from a SnapCard will be automatically written to the native address book as well as to the user's computer when they synchronize their device, thereby eliminating the mobile user’s fear of losing another business card or misplacing a business card.

SnapDat says that its SnapDirectory acts as a digital Rolodex. The user can click on a SnapCard to email, call or text a contact, map their address, visit their social networking site or view their favorite YouTube (News - Alert) video. All these features provide the user with enhanced networking experience and facilitate iPhone and iPod touch users to connect with anyone, even if their contacts don't share the same device.
