Truveo Upgrades Video Search Application for the iPhone

Video search engine Truveo has launched a new version of its acclaimed video search application for the iPhone (News - Alert). The new improved Truveo Mobile Video Search for iPhone app allows users to access more than 145 million videos and includes a special “What’s Hot” section which includes the most popular videos from across the Web.

“Truveo was the first company to release a video search application on the iPhone and we’re delighted to be the first to release a second generation video search app, one that incorporates much of the feedback we’ve received from users,” commented Pete Kocks, President of Truveo and Vice President of AOL (News - Alert).

The new version of the Truveo Mobile Video Search for iPhone app features ‘Intelligent Query Completion’, an option that offers suggestions when a user enters a keyword.
Truveo’s free video search app for the iPhone was launched in July 2008. Since then, users have viewed more than 3 million videos through the application. In September last year, TMCnet reported Truveo’s launch of a public beta of its new mobile video search site for mobile devices that support RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol)
The updated Truveo video search app can be downloaded free of cost from Apple’s (News - Alert) App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at http://www.itunes.com/appstore/.
Launched in 2005, the Truveo search engine powers video search on popular website including AOL Video, AOL Search, Brightcove, CBS RADIO’s sites, Clevver, CSTV, Excite, Flock, Infospace, Kosmix, Microsoft Corporation, Pageflakes, PureVideo, Qwest (News - Alert), CNET’s Search.com, Sportingo, Sports Illustrated, Widgetbox and YourMinis.
