Zenprise to Support Apple iPad in the Enterprise

Zenprise (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of enterprise mobile management and device management software, recently announced that it will offer mobile management software to support the Apple (News - Alert) iPad. Zenprise made this possible through its award-winning MobileManager platform which facilitates IT departments to monitor, track and secure iPads. Zenprise also supports BlackBerry, iPhone, Palm WebOS, Windows Mobile and Android (News - Alert) devices.


Initially, the iPhone entered the endeavor after accepted by the consumers extensively. If the iPad is to follow the same path, probably, consumers will seek to connect their personal iPads to the corporate network. According to the officials of Zenprise, choice of an employee’s mobile device is personal, and users require flexibility on the choice. A major advantage of Zenprise's customers is that the company is capable of supporting iPad right at the onset of consumer adoption. Zenprise claims that iPad will be extensively available in US stores on April 3, and large amounts of devices have already been pre-ordered.

Zenprise's support for the iPad permits IT departments to manage a complex, heterogeneous mobile environment economically by providing auto-discovery of all iPads connecting into the enterprise and offering reports of iPads by user, department or geographic regions; end-to-end visibility which means detecting infrastructure-related problems that puts off an iPad user from accessing enterprise resources such as email including the detection of corporate access network problems, carrier issues, backend mail server problems or Web server issues; Compliance which helps IT managers stick to corporate security policies; automated troubleshooting  to identify and remediate user configuration errors rapidly etc.
