DSP Group (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of wireless chipset and semiconductor system solutions with software and reference designs, enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), consumer electronics manufacturers and service providers to cost-effectively develop new revenue-generating products with fast time-to-market. Its portfolio of wireless chipsets includes DECT (News - Alert)/CAT iq, DECT ULE, Wi-Fi, PSTN, BoneTone intelligent voice enhancement and noise elimination, video and VoIP technologies.
The company’s DECT VoIP chipset, which is powered by an ARM926 application processor and DSP processor, powers Yealink’s (News - Alert) W52P DECT IP phone. Released earlier this year, the SIP cordless phone is designed specifically for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), offering cost savings and scalable SIP-based mobile communications systems.
Yealink provides a variety of IP phones and communication solutions within its product portfolio. The key to successful products is keeping up with trends, and today, that means mobility. Yealink offers next-generation IP phones, including its recently launched family of T4 IP phones. In addition to its T4 series and its W52P DEC IP phone, the company offers an IP video phone, the VP530, gigabit color IP phones and a SIP series of IP phones.
"DSP Group's DECT VoIP chipset will measurably impact the W52P's feature set, while still delivering outstanding price-performance to our end users," said Stone Lu (News - Alert), senior vice president of sales and marketing at Yealink, in a statement. "DSP Group's DECT VoIP technology will allow us to quickly deploy HD voice DECT IP phones across regions where there is a high demand for superior levels of voice quality.”
The W52P IP phone features a high-quality full duplex speaker phone (using the G.722 Codec) to deliver quality broadband sound, and the integrated power over Ethernet (PoE) technology allows organizations to enjoy more flexible and efficient network designs. The energy-efficient design allows users to either power their units via the provided power adapter or directly via the Ethernet cable, which needs to be connected to a PoE switch.

W52P delivers enhanced versions of standard IP DECT phone features and accessories, such as call waiting, LCD screen, speaker phone and headset. The DECT Wireless technology makes the phone portable without compromising on voice quality. It also delivers excellent call quality, exceptional security and great range, without causing interference to your existing wireless networks.
"We are pleased and proud to be chosen by a global Top Five SIP Phone (News - Alert) provider like Yealink, a company known for innovation and market leadership," said Fredy Rabih, vice president, VoIP product management at DSP Group. "Our partnership with Yealink will enhance the DSP Group's growing share in the VoIP domain, which we've targeted strategically. Our solution will help Yealink continue to deliver superior performance and a rich set of VoIP features, all in a cost-effective and field-proven package.”
