Using IP Phones for Cloud Telephony Means Business Advantages
By Michelle Amodio, TMCnet Contributor

The brains behind cloud telephony remain in the inner workings of its connection; the ability to connect five or 5,000 IP phones, routing calls in n digital, online packets for much more efficient phone management, and with the added bonus of no expensive hardware.

Cloud phone systems result in a much clearer digital audio quality, at costs up to 80 percent less than standard phone service. The added reliability of redundant phone networks and ”self-healing” cloud-based computing is a big win for a lot of businesses.

Businesses have really taken to new and improved IP telephony systems that are available. Since the benefits associated with cloud systems are unmatchable, business owners are migrating to the latest IP phones. IP phones are rapidly taking up the space once occupied by the ubiquitous handsets working on traditional telephony.

IP phones offer features that can better harness cloud telephony in a way that regular handsets cannot. With enhanced readability on displays and programmable buttons, remaining efficient while using the latest phone systems has never been easier.

We’re in an era of improved networking and computing technologies, so much that we have moved away from conventional telephone-based systems and services towards the cloud, replacing telephone handsets with IP-based phones, computer-based headsets and/or mobile devices.

Thanks to cloud telephony, a PC, IP phone set and broadband connection is all you need to be a remote worker or even be part of an agent pool; as such systems can scale to literally thousands. Many businesses are taking advantage of hosted IP phones to connect their entire workforce acting as a single ‘internal’ network, sometimes crossing many international locations either using local broadband, Ethernet and SIP trunks, meaning business goals can be met at lower costs, with greater flexibility and in faster timescales.

Adding advanced IP phones and communications systems to an IP network gives every business decision maker the tools necessary to conduct phone, video, and Web conferencing through a single, easy-to-use interface.

Cloud telephony with the right equipment used to utilize it are continually advancing and changing. IP phones can help businesses stay up to date on the latest systems and keep communications always in the now.
