LiveCom Limited, a Hong Kong-based ISP, has selected iDirect (News - Alert) Evolution as the platform to help enterprise and government customers expand their IP reach beyond the Asia-Pacific market.
iDirect, a subsidiary of VT Systems, is a global player in IP-based satellite communications providing technology that enables its more than 350 partners to optimize their networks, differentiate and expand their businesses.
As part of the pact, LiveCom will be using a mix of different iDirect remotes, each tailored to the market-specific demands of their customers across different verticals.
“We are seeing an influx of growth for the use of VSAT within the Asia-Pacific market, and many of these enterprises and government agencies are also focusing on expanding their services worldwide,” said Tom Cheong, vice president of iDirect Asia, in a statement. “Successful global expansion requires the same level of service quality and reliability you provide within your core markets anywhere in the world.”
Cheong went on to explain that iDirect's Evolution platform can ensure such needs are met without limitations, both now and in the future.
"I am very pleased that iDirect's Evolution supports LiveCom's strategic plan to help our customers rapidly expand and grow. My team is also satisfied with the excellent support that iDirect has provided including the technical support and training,” added Yang Zhengrong, COO of LiveCom.
The installation and configuration of iDirect Evolution was completed within a short timeframe and the easy deployment and simple maintenance has enabled LiveCom to reduce OPEX (News - Alert).
Earlier in June, iDirect had announced that U.K.-based independent teleport operator Cobbett Hill Earth Station is upgrading the network of its maritime services unit, ION (International Ocean Services) to the iDirect Evolution 3.2 Platform.
The acquisition of maritime satellite communications provider ION in 2013 marked Cobbett Hill Earth Station’s expansion into the commercial maritime market, which according to NSR will hold close to 1 million in-service units by 2023.
