When organizations are going to deploy unified communications (UC) solutions, the network infrastructure must be assessed to determine if it meets the necessary requirements to deliver the service. Without the right proactive network monitoring and management software, the UC solution may run into performance issues as it deals with problems in the network. The Certified Advanced Assessment Partner Program from Nectar (News - Alert) Services identifies partners that meets the company's certification requirements so enterprise customers will be assured the providers they select can identify the impact of UC traffic on a data network.
Nectar announced it has added Tata Communications (News - Alert), Carousel Industries and Co-Mergent as part of its Advanced Assessment Partner Program requirements to get the Nectar Network Assessment certification. With this certification, these organizations will be able to ensure their customers will have a more reliable and successful deployment for Skype for Business, Cisco (News - Alert) and other enterprise UC environments.
"Enterprise customers can become easily overwhelmed when it comes to planning and managing a new UC deployment. Until the enterprise fully realizes the amount of traffic that is going back and forth on its network, it can never truly prepare to fully adopt a UC deployment," stated David Spears (News - Alert), global product director - Microsoft Cloud Solutions for Tata Communications. About Nectar Services Corp.
According to Nectar, the partners that have been certified advanced have to show their expertise in voice, UC, data networking and how UC traffic affects data networks. They also have to demonstrate how to design, deploy, and use a particular product for a Microsoft Skype Operations Framework (SOF)-aligned network assessment. To date, more than 120 partner person hours have been dedicated to the Advanced Network Assessment Program certification process.
"It's imperative for us to ensure that our partners receive every tool possible to be successful in implementing their customer's UC rollout. Carousel, Co-Mergent and Tata Communications can now significantly reduce the chances that any network trouble spots will arise by having the tools they need to create a successful UC environment for their customers," said Tom Tuttle, senior vice president of global UC strategy and alliances at Nectar.
