Snom Technology announced today that four of its IP desk phones have been certified fully interoperable with Centile Telecom Applications’ ISTRA platform, a multi-tenant cloud-based unified communications PBX (News - Alert) for fixed-line operators. Centile is a European developer of unified communications platforms for operators and integrators, and Snom is a German multinational corporation and provider of professional and enterprise VoIP telephones. Together, the companies should be able to provide services to thousands of people across several countries.
After extensive testing, the Snom D305, D345 and D375 IP phones passed the interoperability program. Now, businesses using Centile’s (News - Alert) ISTRA platform also have access to a portfolio of full-featured, standards-based IP phones, without having to worry about any compatibility issues.
“The qualification of these four Snom desktop IP phones with Centile ISTRA platform gives [organizations] versatility and flexibility in selecting and installing endpoints that closely align with their business processes. The phones are sophisticated, yet affordable, and support a rich set of advanced features,” said Mark Wiegleb, Snom Technology’s Head of Interop (News - Alert) & Integration. “Snom’s partners can now offer their business customers the widest selection of full-featured, standards-based IP phones.”
This new integration allows service providers to offer customers UC and FMC features such as N-Party conference, boss/secretary, call park/pickup, presence, chat and Voice Call Continuity. The last is especially beneficial, given that it allows users to move seamlessly from their Snom IP terminal to their mobile phone without disrupting the call. Additionally, according to the announcement, the Snom IP phones let the user “manage the parking zone by BLF buttons, the display caller picture, the visual configuration of BLF and buttons via the Web provisioning console.”
Bertrand Pourcelot, DG at Centile, expanded on the benefits by saying, “The integration of Snom desk phones with the Centile ISTRA platform enables service providers to deliver high-level unified communications and FMC services from the network to IP and mobile devices. Moreover, the integration includes the “Plug&Play” Redirect Server technology and Firmware & Configuration files auto-provisioning. Each of which provides the service provider with a competitive advantage through speed to market for new customers.”
